Unfortunately my thunderhawk crashed! All wingparts have broken off. I will need to re glue them. I think i will be magnetizing all wings and the tail section. This is the last picture of the thunderhawk when it was in one piece. ![]()

Thunderhawk setback
Wednesday, June 30th, 2010Thunderhawk
Saturday, December 19th, 2009I have started with the construction of a Space Marine thunderhawk. In these pictures you can see the work on the front prow. I will be adding comments and pictures as work progresses. I have stated work on the cockpit. I used bits of a landspeeder to use as seats. The marines will be added later. The entire model will be made from plastic card with exception of the engines.
30-12-2009:
I have closed up the front of the hull. I now need to paint the interior of the cockpit. I have started with the external plates to give extra detail to the machine. I am using old “extra armor” upgrades to create the side doors.
01-02-2010:
I have started detailing the outside. Using toothpicks for a grid. I have made the dark angels chapter symbol to stick to the front.
Meerdere projecten
Saturday, November 7th, 2009
Lightning Exhaust
Thursday, September 24th, 2009![]()
In my last post i mentioned making round engines. That failed. I have made square ones instead.
I have altered the lightning a little, and i have added 2 exhausts. The picture are very bad quality. The exhaust i have added are made from ” lasdoppen” i do not know the English term for it, but the components are normally used to connect electrical wires. They needed a little work to fit but they look pretty good. I also added an autocannon. I think i will start painting it soon.
Lightning II project
Sunday, June 28th, 2009I have continued the lightning project. I have constructed the Fuselage (from rather thick cardboard (5 mm) and already i have attached the wings. The wings are details with 1 mm thick cardboard peaces to look like an eagle.
If you look at the slide show you can see i added a canopy and an air intake. Unfortunately the air-intake does not fit very well. I will try to fix this later on with a filler of some sort. The fighter is rather small also in comparison with the Valkyrie i bought recently. I am currently working on the engines, but this proves rather difficult. It needs to be round, thats not easy with cardboard. At the moment i am using a steel pipe to press the model in shape!
Vindicator project
Tuesday, May 12th, 2009
I decided to do something different than the tale of x gamers last week. I had some bits and pieces lying around, and i decided to crate a demolisher with a siege shield to go with my next army. I already own a space marine army, but i want to play a different chapter, so i will be playing a dark angel army (soon i hope). I have already ordered my soldiers from e-bay! The vindicator will support my Death wing squads very well.
I created the siege shield from two normal dozer blades. And i modified the front of the old Rhino to hold a Imperial mortar which acts as the demolisher cannon. At this stage i found out that the sides of the rhino i was using, where not perfectly straight. This caused some problems with the alignment siege shield. The siege shield is now slightly off center. This does not bother me so i do not think i will do anything about is. But the model as is does not look all that good (i think a nice even base coat will fix this).
I looked at some pictures on internet to find out what still had to be done. I noticed the old style vindicator was wider than the Rhino model, so i adapted the model to be wider than the original. I placed a (filled down) razorback cover on top of the rhino, and added and old computer fan i had lying around. Because the sides where now a little dull, i added a door on each side of the vindicator, and added come extra exhaust bits.
Eventually i created the stormbolter gunner. I thought a heavy stubber looked better than a small stormbolter as pintle mounted support. The gunner model does not fit on the old rhino model so i made a new posision out of a 20 mm base. There are still things todo on the model. I will make a grid on the left side of the vindicator (like the one on the engine compartments). And then of course there must be painting…..
Magnetized necrons
Tuesday, March 31st, 2009After a good tip from a friend of mine i decided to take a look at magnetizing some of my new Necron heavy destroyers. This way i could deploy them as either heavy or normal destroyers. The operation was fairly simple as you can see in the pictures. I bought the magnets for under three euro’s in the “action” store. It is sold as “magnastix”. In order to get the magnets you will have to cut open the plastic rods with a sharp cutting tool. Watch out for the metal inside!![]()
First i widened the hole in the Torso of the destroyers. With a little green-stuff i fixed the magnets in place making sure the edge of the magnet was on the edge of the ribcage.
For the heavy weapons i just fixed an other magnet to the weapon. I made sure the polarity was right (or else the weapon would not be usable at all). I did not use the supplied spacer.![]()
I cut off the joint ball of the normal destroyer arm, and then i fixated a magnet to the arm using green-stuff. Not the nicest method but it will look better once painted. I attached the gun to the arm at a later date.

And you are done. Of course you can magnetise the flying base in the same manner, but at the moment this is not giving me any problems. If you are going to do this as well remember “polarity” Make sure the magnets are facing the correct way. I marked one of the rods, and i used it to make sure all magnets were facing the correct way, without using the magnets that were freshly glued to a model! In the process my Dreadnought got magnetized as well. He has got some weird weapon options now!
Lightning
Monday, March 30th, 2009
These are the first steps for building my own lightning fighter for future Apocalypse games. I downloaded the plans from the zealot website. I also found an active thread on the forum of someone also building the same model. I hope to learn from his examples. I will be placing new posts as i make some progress. The first step is glueing the printouts from the plans to cardboard.
Modeling Necron objectives
Thursday, March 12th, 2009
For a competition i am hosting, you can win points by modeling a few objectives. Two of the objectives are made from bits i got of an “Imperial sector”. The other one, an obelisk i build from scratch. The obelisk was made from plastic card. First i drew the the obelisk on the plastic card. And cut it out with a pair of scissors. You can see here i drew the picture horizontal, i suggest you draw it diagonally. The obelisk will get higher this way. The sides are approximately 1,5 cm and the height is approximately 5 cm. If you are going to do this aim for a height of 7 cm.
The folding lines i scoured with a knife. and then i folded the obelisk together. It seemed my cuts in the plastic where to deep. The plastic card broke in the lines, and i still had several loose parts. When gluing it together it became a bit messy. A little filing and greensuff should be able to correct most holes. ![]()
Now for the basing of the model. This was relative easy. just a little superglue and some sand. I added a loose scarab to guard the obelisk. You can also see my other two smaller objectives. A Necron warrior slumped against a wall, and a lamp post with a pile of skulls. (not too visible in this picture).
Now for the real painting. I dry brushed the base with a custom color Grey. The obelisk was painted a dark color green, and the edges i highlighted with jade green. I added some transfers from the Necron transfer sheet, and i was done. The other objectives where a little more work due to the different colors i used. (pictures of the finished objectives will follow shortly

Tale of x gamers results after 11 03 2009
